My Approach to Therapy

Most of us want to feel seen and met with warmth, and that’s what I aim to offer. I show up with compassion, authenticity, humour, and curiosity, and approach therapy as a collaborative, holistic process. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, using evidence-based tools to support meaningful and lasting change.

Communities I Support

As a queer, polyamorous, non-binary person of color, I offer queer-affirming and sex work-affirming therapy for clients in the LGBTQ2S+, BIPOC, and sex work communities. While I’m especially passionate about supporting folks from these communities, I also work with people outside of them who value inclusive, affirming, and anti-oppressive care.

What Drew Me to Sex and Relationship Therapy

I’ve been drawn to understanding relationships for as long as I can remember. At the heart of it, I see everything as relational.

Sex is a relationship with your identity, your eroticism, and your sense of play. Love is a relationship with your childhood, your desires, your emotional needs, and your community. Trauma often shows up as a rupture in the relationship you have with your nervous system, your boundaries, or your self-concept.

These overlapping threads between sex, relationships, and trauma have always fascinated me because they are so deeply connected. My passion for this work led me to pursue specialized training in sex therapy, couples therapy, and trauma counselling.

Modalities Used in Therapy

I take a holistic and integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a range of evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities. In my work with individuals, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), attachment-based therapy, somatic therapy, and research-informed practices for addressing various concerns.

My approach to couples therapy is rooted in an combination of frameworks from Gottman Method Couples Therapy, The Developmental Model of Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Whether I’m working with individuals or couples, my practice is rooted in anti-oppressive, queer-affirming, and feminist frameworks.

Who I Am Outside of The Therapy Room

I’m a better therapist when I’m living a full, messy, joyful life outside the therapy room too. When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me training Jiu-Jitsu, wandering through the woods, cooking up something chaotic (and hopefully edible), deep into a video game or graphic novel, vibing to R&B, or just hanging out with my friends and partner.
